“Me and my dad are standing on my balcony overlooking Liverpool after a night out together. He takes a drag on his cigarette and says: ‘Imagine you make this tiny baby who’s so premature he fights to stay alive for weeks. Then one day you buy that kid a guitar, and watch him get better and better. Then you go to his graduation, see him marry the love of his life, sign a record deal and play a sold out Royal Albert Hall. And now you’re standing in a flat he bought from writing songs...sounds heavy doesn’t it?’ he says, taking another drag, ‘...it’s not!’. That night after he fell asleep I wrote this song.”

Lyrics
You said, what can I tell you about life mate
I can tell you it’s too short
But water the plants and they might grow straight
And we all die when the winter comes
You don’t l know that wisdom comes too late
And nothing grows from hate
You know that love is the only way
And I love you with my whole heart
And heavy as that sounds it’s not
I love you with my whole heart
And heavy as that sounds it’s not
You said what will you do when we’re long gone son.
Well you’ll start this thing again
One day you’ll say this to your own son
God spares you and Evelyn
And don’t you ever lie in bed too late
Don’t make the morning wait
Don’t let this love ever go to waste
And I love you with my whole heart
And heavy as that sounds it’s not (ooohhhh)
I love you with my whole heart
And heavy as that sounds it’s not
